1. How do I explain Climb For Youth, quick and easy?
Climb For Youth is a an opportunity for YOUR TEAM to raise scholarship funds that will financially support youth to participate in programming through The Adventure Centre.
2. How can I explain Climb For Youth for DALT programming?
Climb For Youth is an opportunity to raise dollars that directly support the work that DALT students are doing in local schools to create a positive, inclusive culture for all students.
3. How does Climb For Youth work?
Simple! You collect pledges, either individually or with a team. Then you come and Climb For Youth on March 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You send your pledge contributions to The Adventure Centre, which applies 100% of your pledges directly to YOUR program.
4. What percent of my pledge dollars goes to overhead vs. to programs for youth?
100% of your pledge goes directly to the cost of youth programming!
5. If I can't climb at the Climb For Youth event, can I still contribute?
Absolutely! You can contribute in either of the following ways:
- Pledge someone else's team.
- Sponsor the event. There are many sponsorship levels offering many opportunities for recognition.
- Donate snacks, drinks or other supplies for the event.
6. Can I Climb For Youth even if I don't participate in a program at The Adventure Centre?
Absolutely! You and/or your team can raise pledges and climb on behalf of another group of youth who would benefit from Adventure Centre Programming. You can also climb on behalf of The Adventure Centre Scholarship Fund team or the DALT program team, providing scholarship dollars that will directly benefit youth participating in those programs.
7. Can I climb on my own, or do I have to have a team?
You have the option to climb as an individual.
8. Do I have to pre-register to Climb For Youth?
No, you can show up at the door and climb. The Climb Kalamazoo has graciously agreed to donate any climbing fees from this day to our event.
9. Can people pledge with a credit card?
Yes. Our on-line pledging process is safe, quick and easy. And anyone pledging on-line can direct their pledge to your team.
10. Do I have to pay to Climb For Youth?
No. Thanks to the generosity of Climb Kalamazoo, anyone who raises the minimum amount of pledges gets to Climb For Youth at no cost. This includes your climbing pass and gear rental!
11. Why is Climb For Youth downtown instead of out at The Adventure Centre?
Climb Kalamazoo provides about 10 times more climbing surface than we have at The Adventure Centre. Plus it's indoors, which means that Climb For Youth can be fun and successful no matter what weather we have!
