Thank you for taking on the role of Climb For Youth Team Leader! This brief checklist will help you start strong, finish well, and get the most out of your Climb For Youth experience.

1. Know the basics:
   1. What is Climb For Youth? Raising funds for YOUR TEAM to participate in youth empowerment programs at The Adventure Centre. You can also raise funds for another team that will participate in Adventure Centre programming.
   2. Why should we participate? Because many schools and programs have lost funding for these experiences.
   3. When is it? March 21, 12 a.m. to 5 p.m.
   4. Where? Climb Kalamazoo on the Mall in downtown Kalamazoo
   5. Who can be on my team? Anyone who is willing to raise pledges and/or climb on the 21st.
   6. How much money do we have to raise? The suggested minimum for a team is $500.
2. Recruit a team of 2 to 20+ participants. If you have 20 or more participants, you might want to have two teams and encourage some friendly rivalry.
3. Provide your team name and team leader contact information to The Adventure Centre to be included on our on-line giving page. Individuals can then donate to your team directly on line.
4. Hold an introductory meeting (in person, by phone or on-line)
   1. Set team goals, including:
      1. Dollars raised _______________
      2. Feet climbed ________________
   2. Provide pledge sheets, waivers, rules and marketing materials.

   3. Explain how to solicit and collect pledges in person and on line.
   4. Encourage and motivate the team for success!
5. Check in with the team weekly (in person, by phone or on-line). Provide updates to Richard Szwaja at The Adventure Centre.
6. Organize rides to and from Climb Kalamazoo on the 21st.

Don't forget that your team can also take part in the built-in competition for most dollars raised or feet climbed, with winners receiving an award!
